Wonderful
Teresa said in all the years that she's done this she has never had this happen in an audience for anywhere. Some of it was very sad, but they got to hear from the loved ones. She was amazing with the audience, people wearing tears from getting to hear what they needed to hear. Atlanta Symphony Orchestra gave me a lot of closure. That night someone was going to commit suicide, she felt the presence I guess from the souls telling her. I don't know, but it was a really eerie feeling. I hope they didn't. I hope she comes back soon. I want to take my daughter.
Legend is a tremendous musical talent
The temperature held off the rain, pleasant it was. I'm not that familiar with Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's music, but took my wife since she is a fan. Stronger than I expected was the performance, all that was left. I ended up enjoying Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's self-narrated performance that had interesting anecdotes and glimpses into what made them the talent that they are.
I was disappointed that the opening act did not make it to perform. This event was very subdued compared to what I'm used to, being used to more rock-oriented performances with lights, flames, and extensive stage shows. I didn't recognize them, but that left over an hour of sitting in our seats until JL came on.
After an intro by the strings section, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra entered the stage simply by walking from behind it wearing a white suit. The class of their apparel matched the class of their performance as they showed of their talents both vocally and on the piano. They are truly gifted musicians and vocalists. That was not a problem, however.
I'll admit to surprised by their constant glances out into the audience after doing something vocally challenging or difficult on the keys waiting for the crowd to fill the air with applause and cheers. While I'm noting it, I wasn't put off by it, just felt it was unnecessary. Not that they weren't deserving, but rather because it seemed that they were expecting it.
I was pleasantly surprised that I knew more of their songs than I expected to. I think it helps them make more sense. They ran through songs from their first album all the way up to their current release. I thought it was cool to learn the background for some of the lyrics. Never understood artists who say "I just let people think what they want about the meaning." They threw in a song from the Beatles, Michael Jackson, and Simon & Garfunkel to complete the set and did a nice job on all of them.
Overall, it was a fantastic night. The mood. The atmosphere. The supporting musicians. The simplistic lighting. And that's what is was supposed to be. An evening we shared. Nice job, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Nice job.
